Here in Britain it has to be said that Ahmadiyya Islam (most relevant
to Sutton and Morden as they build their headquarters´ offices and
new mosque among us) is among the least likely of all Muslim groups to
encourage violence. There is no doubt that the Ahmadiyya present a great
challenge and opportunity to the Christians of our area. Do we allow the
frantic pace of South London life to keep us separate from this community
being quickly established here? As more of us find them mobbing into our
neighbourhood, I hope we are welcoming, while standing our ground on the
historical evidence for Jesus, and all he did and taught, on which so
much of our freedoms rely. Real friendship has to be the key, based on
the kind of relationship Dominic speaks about in our first article.
